I work in the area of causal inference in observational data. I am an econometrician by training. My recent work has taken more of a ML flavor on causal inference. My work on causal inference has been in the application areas of consumer behavior modeling, attribution, pricing, and what-if modeling. In addition to causal inference, I have worked on Anomaly Detection, both batch and online versions, in recent past. A number of technologies based on my work are part of multiple Adobe products.
In addition to thinking about observational data, I am interested in philosophy. My current research philosophy is that one needs to be grounded in theory, keeps you aware of where you are on the Dunning-Krueger curve, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for not doing useful things. 🙂
Outside of research and spending time with my family, I spend time reading and planning the next trek.
