A glimpse from 2013: Vision of the Future paved the way for Project Primrose

In 2013, Adobe Research produced the “Vision of the Future,” a visionary video that reflects our forward-thinking perspective on the evolving intersections of creativity and marketing technologies. Research intern Devon Hosford worked with many Adobe colleagues to create the video, from story development to the final edit, over a period of three months.

The aspirational Vision of the Future video not only presented a glimpse into the future of digital transformation, but also set the stage for the Project Primrose, displayed at Adobe MAX Sneaks 2023 and Adobe MAX Sneaks Japan as an interactive dress. With the technology, designers can quickly turn their designs into wearable art using flexible and non-emissive textiles. Creators can also layer this technology into clothing, furniture, and other surfaces, and the style possibilities are infinite.
