Ani Nenkova is a Principal Research Scientist at Adobe Research, broadly working in the areas of artificial intelligence and language technology. She obtained her doctoral degree in computer science from Columbia University, completed her postdoctoral training at the linguistics department of Stanford University and was on the faculty of the Computer and Information Science Department of the University of Pennsylvania for 15 years prior to joining Adobe. Her research has been recognized with best paper awards at SIGDIAL 2011, EMNLP-CoNLL 2012 , the AMIA Informatics Summit 2021 and INLG 2023. Dr. Nenkova was a board member and in 2020 a president of SIGDAT; a program co-chair for NAACL 2016; a member for NLP of the Speech and Language Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. She is a past editor-in-chief for the Transactions of ACL (TACL).
