Michaël Gharbi

Michaël received his PhD from MIT CSAIL where he worked under the supervision of Frédo Durand. He has interned several times at Adobe, working with Sylvain Paris. Prior to MIT, Michaël completed his undergraduate studies in France, at École Polytechnique, with a major in Applied Mathematics. His research interests include computational photography, computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning. He spent the past few years developing machine learning techniques that improve the quality of low-level image-processing tasks such as demosaicking and denoising, and that accelerate general photographic enhancements. While interning at Google, Michaël developed a deep convolutional network for image enhancement that runs in real time on mobile phones. He is also interested in the systems aspect of machine learning and image processing with contributions to the Halide programming language. More information on his webpage: http://www.mgharbi.com
