Joseph K J

Joseph actively works in developing machine learning models for computer vision, which enables them to think imaginatively as we humans do. This encompasses research in generative AI, multimodal learning and representation learning.

He regularly publishes in venues like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, NeurIPS, AAAI, IJCAI, BMVC and WACV (please find the complete list here).

His research in open-world learning was awarded the AI GameChangers award by NASSCOM in 2022, and his PhD thesis was a runner-up at ACM IKDD Doctoral Dissertation Award 2024. He received the Excellence in Research Award from IIT Hyderabad twice (in 2020 and 2022), while he was working towards his PhD degree with Vineeth N Balasubramanian.

Previously, he has been a student researcher with Google Research, visiting scholar at MBZUAI, UAE and a research intern at IIAI, UAE and University of Tokyo, Japan.
