Yannick Hold-Geoffroy has recently received his Ph.D. from the Computer Vision and Systems Laboratory (CVSL) under the supervision of Jean-François Lalonde at Laval University in his hometown, Quebec City, Canada. His work focuses on using physics and machine learning to solve computer vision problems. Through his collaborations with Disney Research and Adobe, he developed an expertise on outdoor photometric stereo as well as single image illumination estimation and camera calibration; the latter two shipped as features in Adobe Dimension. Yannick also developed skills in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and GPGPU computing in his previous work at Calcul Québec. When he’s not thinking about computer vision, Yannick keeps himself busy with photography, hiking and playing a wide variety of music styles.
